Well, I got it finished just in time for my Mom's birthday! (Happy Birthday Mom!)
And it's close-up:
This secret shawl ended up being just five feet long. I used the collection of yarns I picked up at ArtFibers during the San Francisco trip. It took a little over one week to knit - but this was being strictly religious to it :) Oh, and don't ask me how many ends I had to weave in! Let's just say it was two ends for every yarn change.
This last weekend was spent in Orange County. My parents, sister Cassie and nephew Jackson came from Tennessee AND my brother Brandon, nephew Tristian, sister Adriane, and sister Briana with her husband Dave came down from Sacramento to celebrate my mom's birthday as well as celebrate my grandfather's 70th birthday. The party for my grandfather was quite the shin-dig, with some sixty people in attendance! But that doesn't mean we didn't have time for some fun:
Yep - that's baby Jackson playing in the pool with his mom! (Sorry, I just couldn't resist showing him off - isn't he just the cutest darn thing?! And personality to boot!)
Anyway, I'm currently plugging away on the Vertical Stripe Bag. I'm almost done. If I get some knitting time in tonight I hope to finish it up and post a picture tomorrow!
