Pattern: Simplicity 5505, altered view F.
Fabric: One and three-quarter yard of clearance fabric that was on clearance for 60% off (say that three times fast!)
Alterations: Made on the serger. I cut off the sloped point and curved off the skirt, which is finished with a pink rolled hem. The elastic band was put in using a 4TO and then a coverstitch enclosed casing.
Cost: The fabric was purchased at Joann's - fabric on clearance, clearanced ($1.60/yd). Elastic, pattern and thread came from the stash. Total = $2.80. Certainly cannot beat that!!
Impressions: I love this particular pattern. I use it almost exclusively in constructing elastic-waisted cotton skirts - it's really easy and a lot of fun. The fabric design is quite fun, very summery, and even appropriate for me to wear to work :) Andy's exact words to me when I finished it were "wow, you really don't need to go buy clothes" - love that!
Finished Dimensions: To fit me.
In other instant gratifications - some special serger feet made an appearance late this afternoon. I decided to play with one this evening, and whipped up a panel curtain for our bedroom. Hardware is pending purchase and installation, but once it's up, it will get a post of it's own!
