Friday our wee-baby-boy turned two weeks old:
Besides marrying the love of my life, he is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. My life has been blessed with two great boys!
Sure, we have our sleep-deprived newborn nights, and firehose diaper adventures (I've been nailed twice!), but it is all worth it.
As each day passes, I become more and more confident in my mommy-abilities. Luckily Jake is a pretty easy baby (knock-on-wood), so we are falling right into stride. My mom has been a big, huge help... but the real test has begun as she headed back to her home this morning. But, I think Jake, Daddy and I have it all under control :)
The only challenge I have yet to face is breastfeeding in public. Jake and I have taken to nursing quite well, with just a couple bumps in the road. We are quite comfortable nursing in the privacy of our home, but I'm extremely nervous of feeding Jake in public. It's a combination of a few different factors - those that worry me the most are finding an appropriate place to nurse while out and about, and not getting scolding looks or comments from strangers. I just need to gain some confidence and get over it. (Any tips from others with experience with this would be greatly appreciated!)
In the meantime, between napping and diaper changes, I have been working on a blanket for Jake. I hope to post it soon!
