Thank you so much for the suggestions regarding nursing in public. I did buy a Bebe au Lait and a Peanut Cover. We have been practicing at home, as well as when we are visiting friends. Have yet to truly use the covers "out in public", but I'm sure all will be fine.
Yesterday sweet Jake turned four weeks old! The time is flying by.
He's getting so big - and learning new things everyday. I cannot describe the sheer excitement I feel watching him discover this big world around him! Mommy and Daddy are so lucky to have such a wonderful little man in our lives.
I made the top I'm wearing - it's Jalie 2787, and I made the nursing version. I just love it!
The sleep deprivation had just been eating us alive. We finally broke down and decided to do some pumping this last week. This has allowed us to have Andy take one of the feedings from me during the night, especially since he is usually up late anyway. So, I go to bed sometime after the 10PM feeding, Andy takes the next feeding (usually around midnight), then I take the next feedings after that (usually starting around 2AM). This gives me a solid, uninterrupted four hours of sleep (doesn't sound like much, but with a newborn it's a blessing), with two hour spurts in-between the other feedings. This also gives Andy a solid block of sleeping. Thus far the plan seems to be working. But, we still really can't wait until Jake sleeps through the night!
