I've had this one sitting on the sewing rack for awhile. I had it finished, but I was not happy with the waistband finish.
Anyway, I finally removed the old waistband, and attached the new. I used a technique in Sandra Betzina's Power Sewing called "the designer waistband that grows." Love this treatment and fit thus far.
I used a solid light purple vintage sheet, and decided that some machine embroidery detailing was needed in order to spruce it up a bit.
I finished off the hem with some packaged bias tape in a creamy-tan.
Circle skirts are great in many ways. One, maybe not so obvious, way is that lil' man loves the ruffles of fabric!
In the last picture, Jake is using baby-sign-language and telling me "please" in his adapted version. We think he wanted to keeping playing in the skirt fabric! I can't speak highly enough of baby-sign-language, but that is a post for another day :)
Thanks for stopping by and reading!
