I know life has been crazy busy when I have neglected my blog for more than ten days! So here is an update of things going on.
The Cotton-Tape Knit-Along started this week, and everything seems to be going just great. I almost had a melt down on Tuesday when I was trying to get "hello" to work properly with blogger to post photos.... For some reason the template completely changed and then blogger went down for maintenance!
I. Freaked. Out.
It was as if I had lost everything... everyone's previous posts, the template I had spent so much time on getting the sidebar the way I wanted it, all the members... and it did not help that I could not log into blogger to figure out what was wrong. Luckily I was able to fix the problem when I got home from school. Pheeww, I was really stressed out about it!
Anyway, if you want to join the knit-along, please do! We will keep it going until everyone is finished!
Here is the progress on my KAL project:
Here is 19 cm into the back piece - I have about 20 cm to go before starting the armhole shaping.
Other projects:
Well - I finally seamed the other sleeve to the Vogue Cropped Cardi I have been working on. Now I just need to figure out the crochet edging. I picked up a crochet hook, now I just need to find a block of time to work through it.
Also on the needles is the Interlacements Fan and Feather Shawl. This one was supposed to be finished almost a week ago - oh well:
36" of shawl goodness. I am giving myself until the middle of October to finish this one. It will be an in-between-I-am-bored-with-what-I-am-working-on-now-project!
In other knitting news - my mom was so kind enough to track down the now discontinued Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Nashville. She picked up twelve skeins of strawberry cream for Erika and I to split as well as six skeins of Sugar Plum! Sweet! Now to decide what to make with it.... I hear it is a good subsitution to Rowan's All-Season's Cotton and Vittadini's Diana (is it time for the Lace and Ruffle Cardi??). Erika, Kris and I recently placed a *mass* order with Knit 'n' Tyme to get a few Phildar Magazines, and I am thinking that the Cotton Ease might be a really good subsitution to Phildar's Aviso yarn as well. I see with the addition of the three (yes, three) Phildar magazines coming my way that I will be doubling my current knitting project wish list!
Erika and I are planning a trip to the TKGA Summer Market in Oakland this coming July. I am unable to go to Rhinebeck this year (*tears*), and this is going to be my subsititution! We have already booked our flights, and I need to book the hotel. Is there anyone else who is going?? Is anyone taking any classes?? I would love to meet up with other knitbloggers that are going to be there!
Now for some bragging.....
Andy and I were lucky enough to see my parents, grandparents, my sister and her baby (my nephew - Jackson) on Mother's Day! My parents, sister and nephew made the flight from Nashville to visit. Isn't Jackson just the cutest thing! He has gotton so big! And talk about a personality to boot! It was great seeing them - and we look forward to seeing them again over Memorial Weekend!
Left to right: Cassie (my sister!), me, and my Dad holding baby Jackson!
I miss ya Marisa! We gotta have a meet up soon!!

Oh my goodness - Marisa, you look JUST LIKE YOUR MOM!!!! I can't believe it nor can I believe how big Jackson is - I saw your sister the other day at the shop and told her the same thing. Time flies since it feels like only yesterday that the shop opened, that I first met your Mom and that she was talking about Jackson's future due date.
Sorry that you're missing another sale - before you come back to Nashville for a visit, let me know - maybe I'll have a Marissa Only One Day Sale!
