At least I think so :)
My finished flannel pajamas!
Pattern: Simplicity 4796, view C for pants (minus bows) and view D for top.
Fabric: Five yards of pink cotton flannel fabric. I picked it up on sale a couple of months back at Joann's for $1.99/yard.
Alterations: The only change I made was how the elastic band was constructed. I just love using my serger for encasing the elastic, so I did that instead of following the pattern directions.
I also played with the lettering decorative stitches on my machine and came up with this for the front right side:
Don't you just love it?!? I know it's a little goofy, but it's so darn cute!
Cost: Fabric - $9.95. Simplicity Pattern - $1.99. Wrights double fold bias tape in black - 2 at $1.89 each = 3.78. Thread came from the stash. Total - $15.72!
Impressions: This pajama set was a lot of fun to sew. I think the addition of the black bias binding to the edges of the garment is a nice touch. As one of my Christmas gifts I had received the adjustable bias binding foot, which made it such a breeze to sew on the bias bindings! And fast, really fast.
The only change I would make next time would be to make changes to the shoulder/arm seam. I falls a bit off my shoulder, and it's probably me just being picky, but if I were to spend the time to make it again I would alter it.
Very cute!
