I just could not wait to dive into a new project with some of the new fabric stash acquired from the LA trip. After little contemplation, another Barcelona skirt was definitely in order!
Pattern: Amy Butler's Barcelona Skirts, the A-Line version.
Fabric: 2 yards of Robert Kaufman Cotton Lawn Sofia Print, and 2 yards of Organic White Cotton for the lining (but only used half of the width of the yardage).
Alterations: The only change I made was to not hem the lining. I opted for just finishing the bottom edge of the lining with a 3TO stitch.
Cost: The fabric was $7.75/yard. The lining was $5/yard, but I only used about half of the width so I definitely have enough for another skirt lining. The pattern was "free" since I already accounted for it's cost with the first skirt. The thread came from the stash. The zipper was $0.60. Total - $21.10.
Impressions: Another perfect fit! I am in love with this pattern. If you like skirts and don't have this pattern in your stash, go and buy it. You won't be sorry!
I absolutely think the organic cotton fabric as a lining is fabulous. So soft and comfortable, not to mention light and breathable. I plan to stock up on much more of this fabric on the next LA Fashion District trip, that's for sure!
OH that is so pretty! Good job!

A girl after my own heart! I LOVE that fabric. If I go to LA this Saturday, I'm definitely on the lookout for something similar. My mom brought me home a bunch of cotton prints from Britex!
