Pattern: Cropped Cardigan with Leaf Ties from Fitted Knits.
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Strawberry Pink (3 skeins).
Needles: Addi Turbos Circs US7s.
Alterations: I shortened the length by two inches. This was simply to make the garment wearable during my pregnancy. I didn't want it to stretch around the belly and look ridiculous.
I also opted to crochet a bottom and sleeve hem edging instead of knitting a picot row and seaming up a hem. And, honestly, I think I like the look of the crochet edging better :)
After a bit of consultation, I also crocheted the edges along the neck and front, instead of making the icord ties and the attached icord edging. Again, I am extremely happy with how this look turned out.
Impressions: I really like this cardi. I received quite a number on compliments on it at work. It is the perfect piece for spring, and pairs perfectly with the growing belly. Speaking of belly, you just know you want to see the most recent belly shot, don't you??
23 weeks and counting!
A side note about the dress I'm wearing - I actually picked it up at Ross for $19! Granted it is not a "maternity dress", but it is a size larger than I would normally wear, and it is constructed out of a nice weight knit jersey. And let's not even talk about the price - maternity clothes in general are so expensive! I've discovered that knit jersey is a pregnant woman's friend when shopping for normal clothes. I picked up three other jersey knit dresses at Ross, all ranging from $10 to $19. I thought this was a great find and a great tip, so I thought I would pass it along just in case there is anyone else out there with a growing belly :)
It looks awesome!! Love that jersey knit even for non-growing bellys. ;-)

That looks great on you, very flattering. And I'm impressed that you found some garments to knit that are wearable both during pregnancy and after.

Looks great. The crochet was the perfect choice for the edging and closing.
