It's a yearly tradition for my mom and I to head to the Joann's Black Friday sale the day after Thanksgiving. This year was no exception.
While shopping the flannels, we both fell in love with a wintery penguin print. After finding a cute contrasting fabric, I decided that it would make the cutest pair of pj bottoms using a pattern I brought with me from home. I also promised my mom a pair.
This is her pair, mine are still waiting to be made:
I picked up this pattern at a quilt show over the summer. It is the Slumber Buns Pajama Bottoms by the Paisley Pincushion, and has been something I've wanted to sew for quite some time. I am so glad to finally found the perfect opportunity to put it together! I just lovelovelove the ruffles on the hems and the contrast pocket edges. The directions are pretty straight forward and simple, especially since I've had a lot of experience putting pj bottoms together. I did change the way they attach the ruffle hems since I have a serger, and I top-stitched the seam to the main fabric to prevent rolling.
So can't wait to make my pair :)
