Spiderman Costume Gifting

My favorite gift of them all, for my nephew.

His favorite superhero of all time. Seems fitting that he should have a Spiderman costume to play in.

The mask made of felt layers times two, machine stitched in black with an elastic band to hold in place.

An appliqued t-shirt, using some scraps.

 

A reversible cape featuring spidy on one side and a machine embroidered black spider on the other.

My nephew has been spotted in the flesh being transformed into his own Spiderman, throwing webs wherever he can.

Necklace Gifting

Necklaces for my sister and her partner.

Simple, each of their styles. With wire-work and without.

Adjustable through knotting ends, eliminating a clasp.

They love them.

Fleece Blanket Gifting

Fleece blankets for my cousins, they are seven and three.

Monogrammed with their initial, and matching fleece robes my mom made for them as well.

Done in the no-sew way, they were finished in just a few afternoons. These were a hit!

More Button Embellished Fabric Gifting

After some deliberation, I decided to make more fabric art for another sister.

She has darker colors in her home, featuring a wine-country theme.

 

I like that the frames are all the same color on this set, it allows the fabric and button embellishments to pop.

Although the dragonfly motif did take the longest to stitch on, my favorite of this set is the brown one. The button layout is so simple yet so pretty.

Sewn Pony Gifting

Meet Pipi. She's been given to my niece.

She's two. A stuffed pony is such the perfect gift for a little girl.

These fabrics may look familiar, these are more extras from Kris' box bags. Kris has such great taste in fabric!

The pattern is one a picked up during one of my thrift store trips back in October. It's by Melly & Me. Pipi just turned out so cute!!

Table Runner of the Month Club

In forcing myself outside my comfort zone, exploring fabrics and techniques, I joined an "of the month club."

Much more beautiful in person than in the photograph. My goal is to finish each one before the next on is delivered.

Wire Earring Gifting

Since playing with my jewelry jig has been so much fun, some members of my family received hand-created jewelry pieces.

Most of the beads and findings in my stash are not labeled, so it's a pity that I don't know what kind of beads these are.

It's amazing what some simple silver finding and 24-gauge wire can create.

These were gifted to my grandmother. I saw her wearing them just a few days ago, so they must be a hit!

Flame Hoodie

Another inspired hoodie for Jake, this time with flame print flannel. Still Kwik Sew 3150.

 

Pictures were taken in Tennessee during our November trip, where the hoodie made it's debut.

Gifting wrap-up, Part I

I will be doing some catching up over the next few postings, mostly to highlight some of the Christmas gifts I finished last month.

First up, some framed, button embellished, fabric art

I used some leftovers from the box bags I made Kris, as well as some Joel Dewberry fabric that I had in the stash.

I was inspired to make this project when I saw it in Anna Maria Horner's Seams to Me.

Most of the buttons are vintage, acquired from either DH's grandmother or through my thrift store adventures.

The buttons are all hand-sewed onto the fabric, and the frames can either be hung on the wall, or placed on a shelf.

One of my sisters received this set. While I was visiting during Thanksgiving she had pointed out some art that she really liked at a craft show that was along this color theme. Luckily I was able to create something for her that she'll love displaying in her home.

Thirty-three

They say it's your birthday...

Me. Today. Thirty-three!

Just popping in really quick. I am still around, busy with crafting, sewing, toddler-chasing... and not blogging. I have so much to catch up on!

Anyway, I will be spending the day with Andy, Jake, my grandparents and SIL. Should be a pretty low-key day, and I am looking forward to it.
