This last weekend was so much fun! Erika made the jaunt down from Orange County on Friday evening to spend part of the weekend in San Diego. Friday night we met our friend Carin for dinner. As requested by Erika we headed to Harney and indulged in sushi. It was way yummy and it definitely hit the spot (just ask Erika!). After dinner we went to The Livingroom for some coffee and chatting. We apparently had a lot to catch up on as we didn't head home until a little after 11PM!
Saturday Erika and I made a trip to Knitting in La Jolla to pick up some needles and other supplies (an excuse for browsing) before the Wine & Knitting party. Displayed at KLJ was one of the patterns from the new Knitty, W. I really love this tank. It was kinda neat to see the made garment in person, and just made me want to make it even more! The pattern calls for Curious Creek yarn that is absolutely lovely (my mom can testify to that!). As much as I would hate to have to substitute it, I may have to in order to make it this summer. We'll see.
That afternoon Kris, Erika and I had our first wine-tasting and drunk knitting party! We each provided a bottle of wine that we had never tried before and it wasn't long until we had all three open, tasting away. We broke out the knitting and spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening working on our projects, chatting, snacking, sipping and internet purchasing. Kris worked on the seaming to Butterfly, Erika jumped back and forth between a mohair/metallic shawl and Mary Ella beading and I worked on this:
The Cropped Cardi from the new Vogue Knitting. I am almost done with the sleeves (2" from starting the sleeve cap) and then blocking will be had (it needs it badly!).
Kris, Erika and I decided that it was time to have some "dinner" so we made a trip to the Extraordinary Desserts in Little Italy. Not much of a traditional dinner was consumed, but it was extremely sinful and wonderful!
Needless to say Saturday was great and we must have another Wine & Knitting Party in the future - hopefully some others will be able to join us (...Heidi, Carin...)!

I made the mistake of deciding to step on the scale this morning - what on earth made me decide to do that?!? Ignorance is bliss, right?!? Well, let's just say I am NOT happy with what the lying scale told me. I need to get my fat ass self to the gym badly - A workout regime is to be had and is in the works. I hope to use my blog (I know, I know, it is not crafting content) to help keep me honest. I have a high school class reunion coming up in August - I need all the help I can get!
