Pattern: Swallowtail Shawl from Interweave Knits, Fall 2006 (ravelry link).
Yarn: Brooks Farm, Acero in Teal - purchased at Stitches West 2008.
Needles: Addi Turbos Circs US6s.
Alterations: Completed just the first nupp lace chart as there was a yarn shortage happening.
Impressions: The bind off took quite some time, but the end result is fantastic - a nice, stretchy, clean edge, perfect for this lace pattern.
The shawl turned out great! I did quite a bit of ripping back here and there because I was really concerned about running out of yarn. In the end, I would say that the shawl turned out to be a good size for me - about 51" wide and 27" long. The perfect lil' something to keep the chill off the shoulders during the spring. Oh, and I just love the color! The Acero was a pleasure to work with.
Of course, I couldn't leave out the most recent belly shot:
I'm getting huge! At about 29 weeks I feel like I'm growing the biggest baby ever. My back is beginning to pay for it too (to the point that it is becoming debilitating), and I'm sure having scoliosis doesn't help the situation any. After a couple of phone calls to my doctor's nurse, she recommended a maternity belt to help redistribute some of the weight. It has been working wonders, even though it is not taking away all the discomfort (but any relief is better than none at all). I have also ordered a couple of belly bras - I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that it will help a lot more than the belt.
Baby T is quite active now - kicking, punching, and rolling what seems like all the time. Uninterrupted sleep has become non-existent, but I think it's nature's way of preparing us for the sleep cycle of a newborn. DH and I are getting extremely excited and can't wait for baby's arrival!
